Alexion Celebrates 25th Anniversary on Rare Disease Day 2017
What Makes Us Proud
Hear our leaders and employees share their perspectives on the past 25 years and what makes them proud to work at Alexion.
On February 28, 2017, Alexion offices around the world celebrated two milestones—the 25th anniversary of our Company’s founding and Rare Disease Day 2017, a global day of awareness for rare diseases and the impact they have on patients and families.
This year’s Rare Disease Day theme is “With research, possibilities are limitless.” Alexion supports this theme through our continuous mission to develop and deliver life-transforming therapies for patients with devastating and rare diseases.
The limitless possibilities of research have always been part of Alexion’s vision. The Company was founded in 1992 on the ambitious and long-sought goal of addressing devastating diseases caused by defects in the body’s complement system. Today, Alexion is proud to have three breakthrough therapies for patients with four severe and ultra-rare diseases, as well as operations across the globe to serve patients in 50 countries.
Alexion’s 25th anniversary was recognized nationally with the Alexion flag flown over the U.S. Capitol on February 1, as well as in our home state with the declaration of February 23 as “Alexion Day” in Connecticut by Governor Dannel Malloy.
As we celebrate 25 years of transforming lives, we recognize the people whose strength and courage have been our constant source of motivation: patients and families affected by devastating and ultra-rare diseases.
