Alexion Employees Volunteer in Local Communities at Company’s First Global Day of Service

On September 23, 2016, more than 1,500 Alexion employees around the world volunteered in their local communities as part of the Company’s first Global Day of Service. Activities took place in 30 communities across North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia, and Australia.

The Global Day of Service helped inspire and connect em¬ployees with a common purpose, while bringing hands-on support to some of the most pressing needs in our local neighborhoods, with a focus on health, wellness, and education. Examples included beautifying local schools, homeless shelters, and parks; teaching students life skills such as financial and computer literacy; and preparing meals for individuals and families facing a serious illness.

“At Alexion, one of our core values is to change the world for patients suffering from devastating and rare disease by discovering, developing and delivering life-changing medicines,” said David Hallal, Chief Executive Officer of Alexion. “The Global Day of Service demonstrates our values in action as we join together to have a lasting impact on the communities around the world where we live and work.”
